Founded in 2015 by two young Spanish entrepreneurs, Jesús Olano and Guillermo Robles, Beerbay is a start-up that aims to create a new category in the market, the Beertech Category. Our first stage will be starting as a webshop, with a website specifically created to meet the needs of the new trends in beer consumption, and specifically focused on high quality craft beer. We are focusing on a top notch design to guide either the more advanced "beer-geek" customer, and also the more inexpert casual customer that needs extra guidance in order to make sense of the different types and flavours that craft beer can offer.
Jesus has actively used ePlus eMentoring services and is one of the platform users (mentees) who has worked with the highest number of mentors tackling different aspects of his business which has also helped him to become one of our success stories. So far he has been in contact with Ted Politidis, María José Huerta, Bülent Yilmaz and Corrado Bei as well as he was introduced to Christian Conti and to Roberto Carella. Jesus has already done some real progress by working on different business aspects with experts in each field: with Ted he has been working mainly on SEO technical side (how to better structure the page, etc.), María José proposed suggested different approaches for campaigns and how to improve usability. Bülent has reviewed his investor pitch, provided feedback on points to include and improve, while Corrado is mentoring him on EU funding opportunities, which call Jesus should apply for and how to write a good proposal. On only in couple of months, the amount of startup website visitors has doubled (quality traffic) and the startup has its first sales which is due both to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and online marketing suggestions and its successful implementation.
“From my experience, what I can say is that I see very important to have "face to face" interviews (via Skype or any other conference system). In my case I find it a good timing to schedule it once a month (so I can have time to implement some of the advice until the next session).” Jesús Olano Espinosa, CEO of Beerbay
